Working Hard

Driving home the other night with Milo, we had the following conversation....

Milo: Mom who will get home first, me or Dad? (nevermind that I am driving and Finn is in the backseat with him, this is about Milo and Dad)
Me: Well probably Dad tonight.
Milo: Nope, he has to work and work, lots.
Me: Oh really? Do you know something I don't? Did Dad call you and tell you this?
Milo: No he doesn't call me at school Mom. Teachers only have computers Mommy! (this last is in a tone of frustration that I don't already know these things)
Me: Okay. Well I still think Dad will beat us home.
Milo: He works really lots Mom, okay?
Me: Who works more? Dad or Mom?
Milo: Ummm...(finger tapping on the chin) You work more Mom because you work super fast so you can pick me up. Dad just works sometimes.
Me: I don't know. I think Dad works pretty hard.
Milo: (Very exasperated with me) Mom! Mom! Mom! Dad works okay? (Voice raising with each syllable) But he just is not as fast as you. Okay?
Me: Okay! I got it. I work fast.
Milo: Yup, but Dad gets home faster sometimes.

For the record Dad did beat us home, and Milo's only comment when we pulled into the driveway, was... "Oh Man!"
