Teacher Milo

Do you remember playing school when you were little? Me too. Oh all my stuffed animals were very well educated. They attended a variety of classes like math, literature, science, history, art class and on occasion culinary school. (I had a very advanced class) It was one of my most favorite pretend games to play. As an only child I worked my imagination hard. I was a tough school teacher, I assigned homework (coloring book pages mostly) the children (bears and dolls) had their names written on the board (notebook) if they misbehaved (fell over or "laid down" while at school).

So when Milo started at big school, I casually suggested one day that we play school. Now in my mind I thought I would show him the joy of setting up all his students (wild animals) on his bed. I thought I would bring in his art easel as a chalkboard, and he could teach all his animals the finer points of why the dinosaurs died which is a favorite discussion point for him.

I was mistaken. Milo wanted a live audience, so Finn and I became his victims. Also he tried to recruit Alice who would have none of it as well as Dorothy a kitten who we looked after for a couple of days for a friend. Milo is a much kinder teacher, although we had to address him only as "Teacher Milo." I must say that I was the star pupil, Finn had a very hard time sitting still in his chair (floor) and listening (not throwing toys) and was horrid during quiet play (wanted to shriek at the Batcave). However we both did well during story time. When he laid us down for a nap, Finn headed for the living room and I was ordered to keep my head down. Teacher Milo did offer to dim the lights and rub my back which I thought was nice.

I have included some photographic documentation of our class....

"Describe how the dinosaurs died using 5 words or less"
