Nightly Prayers

Nightly prayers are part of our bedtime routine and have been for over a year now. We use the classic, "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep" prayer and then we list the people and things we want God to bless or we want to say thank you for. Milo has this down pat, and usually we begin with God bless Mommy, Daddy, baby Finn.....

Lately Milo has been shaking this up, adding in new things. Here is how last night's prayers went.

Me: Who should we ask God to bless?
Milo: Mommy, Daddy, baby Finn and Floppy (his beloved stuffed animal)
Me: How about our family?
Milo: Nana, Papa, Osca (Oscar their cat, he never quite pronounces the "r") GG (my Grandmother), Grandpa, Yaya and our kitties
Me: Anyone else? How about your aunts and uncles
Milo: Oh yea, Unca Vince and Lynnie (He means Lynnette, we really are working on correct pronunciation) Unca Eric and Maura (he really sometimes doesn't like to use the word Aunt)
Me: And our special friends?
Milo: All my friends and teachers and Unca Kevin and his birds and motorcylces (for the record Kevin doesn't have motorcycles, he could have been just listing motorcycles themselves) and my stars
Me: Okay. Anything special we want to say thank you for?
Milo: Umm, my roof and books and my house, and our neighbors house, becuase they live there. And also the birds and Santa, and Roo who we miss, and my baby, and chocolate, which I like a lot Mommy. (just in case I didn't know?) and my toys and firetrucks, and my lamp, and Sarah.
Me: Sarah?
Milo: my friend at school. She is nice. She isn't mean to me and we play, but she doesn't like sand
Me: Oh, she doesn't like sand? Well not everyone likes sand.
Milo: I like sand. God bless sand. Amen.
