Straws

Milo was recently talking to me about straws. We stopped to get a chocolate milk and the straw he was given was a straight straw, some might just say a "classic" style straw. Milo noted that "some people really like bendy straws." By "some people" he meant that he, Milo really likes a bendy straw. This is a recurring statement by Milo. He describes what "some people" like or do, and usually what he is referring to is himself. A coy way of letting me know his wants and wishes.

He asked me what kind of straw I like. This is a very interesting question as I have never really considered my favorite type of straw. For the record I do like a good bendy straw but a nice strong durable classic straw will always work in a pinch. Thanks Milo for bringing up such an important life question.

Me: Well I like all kinds of straws as long as they work. When I was little I had a pink crazy straw
Milo : A crazy straw! (laughing hysterically at thought of this)
Me: Yup, it was bright pink and it kind of did loops. It was a crazy straw, that is what I called it.
Milo: I want a crazy straw
Me: Well what kind of crazy straw do you want?
Milo: I want it to go high high up and then go round round round and I want it to have buttons
Me: Buttons? that do what?
Milo: Push the buttons and it makes the milk come out (how genius is this? we no longer would have to actually use the sucking motion for a straw, because the straw would do all the work for us, it would just suck that milk right up, up, up, and round, round, round and into your mouth. Or we could call this lazy. Either way...)
Milo: And it would have feet.
Me: Feet? A straw with feet?
Milo: Yes and i would step on it's feet and it would say "ow ow ow, don't step on my feet" and I would show it my shoes and it would say, "Milo I like your jumpy shoes" and I would say "Me too" and then I would jump and twirl and go "aahhhh"
Me: that is quite the straw
Milo: Can we go to the straw store and get it?
Me: I am not sure they make a straw quite like the one you are describing. And to the best of my knowledge there is not just one store that carries only straws.
Milo: Why not?
Me: Well that is one crazy straw and that would be a very interesting store if it existed.
Milo: (looking out the window and laughing) Yes but some people like crazy straws.
