As we were leaving Nana & Papa's house Milo was in the backseat looking around and asked me about flying animals.
Milo: Where are all the birds?
Me: Well honey it is almost nighttime and birds sleep at night so they are probably going to bed
Milo: Oh
Me: You know what? There is one bird that flies at night, an owl. Do you know what sound an owl makes?
Milo: Whoo whoo
Me: That is right.
Milo: And they fly around and sit in trees
Me: There is another flying animal that flies at night, but it isn't a bird, it is a bat.
Milo: Bats fly around and go bonk on the head (giggling madly)
Me: Do You know where bats sleep?
Milo: In rocks
Me: Close, they like to sleep in caves. And did you know that bats like to sleep upside down?
Milo: Yes and when they are sleeping they have no eyelids.
Me: They have no eyelids? (this seems like such a stretch, but then I start to doubt myself, maybe he learned about bats at school, and this fact is real. But nope, that is starting to sound ridiculous. Do bats have eyelids? I must look this up. And right about now in my stream of thoughts, Milo answers me...)
Milo: No because they are upside down and they have feet.
Me: They have no eyelids because they have no feet? (just wanted to clarify his answer)
Milo: No they have no eyelids Mom! (Right, okay so I am realizing that chances are good that bats have eyelids)
Me: Do you like bats Milo?
Milo: No, but I like Batman
