Party Central

In the last 3 weeks we have attended no less than 5 parties. The first party, the kickoff party was none other than Milo's 4th birthday party. It was a great success, lots of friends, family and special people were there. Cousin David came as a Jedi and he brought with him an awesome Storm Trooper, or as Milo pronounces it "Corm-strooper"

Perhaps pictures will fill in for me where I fail with words to describe the fun....

Party #1 : Star Wars

The spread, please note the fabulous Banthas handmade by Yaya
on the table. We had all kinds of awesome deliciousness;
Lightsaber licorice
Tatooine Taters
Vader Veggies
Swedish Fish (no cute name for that one, I just like them)

Lightsaber Training with bubbles, ala the training that Luke did aboard
the Millenium Falcon with Obiwan Kenobi.
Our version had bubbles and infalatable lightsabers.
Yes the force is strong with these little ones.

Milo loved every single moment of it!

He was pretty suspicious of the Storm Trooper at first, but eventually
he warmed up to him. Jason the storm trooper was awesome by the way.

There was a Darth Vader pinata which Milo was totally infatuated with.
It now hangs above his bed. Not sure why he wants it there
but I was informed that is where "Darth Vader likes to watch things."
I suppose if you are the consummate bad guy of all time
with only a head and no body,
then hanging on a curtain rod is a pretty good option.

Ultimate Vanquishment of Darth Vader

I had a Pin the ears on the Yoda game
but Milo wasn't really interested in that until
after everyone left. Still pretty cool, though.
Yoda now resides on the wall in his room
for inspiration.

Our youngest guest, baby Owen and newest member
of the Falk family,
seen here with his lovely Grandmother, made a special appearance.
We were glad to have you there baby Owen!

The blowout of the candles scene... totally classic moment.

Milo couldn't resist, and actually took a big bite out of the cake.
In all fairness the cake had been taunting him for hours.

Perhaps my favorite part of the whole party was the singing to Milo.
He got so embarrassed having everyone sing Happy Birthday.
Later that night when I asked what his favorite part was;
he listed presents (naturally) but also when everyone sang to him.

Finn's favorite part was Jabba the Hut.

Party #2 was for our friend Mary who turned 2! A party at the park is always an excellent idea. The highlight of this party I would say was most definitely the swings.

Finn took his first turn on a swing ever !
He loved it naturally and when he would swing forward,
he would close his little eyes, hair ruffling in the breeze
and just laugh and laugh.

Milo got to swing with Ella, his theater partner.
They have seen one play together and will be seeing
another very soon. I think Milo has a bit of a crush really.

And of course they had some merry go round time as well.
What a great park!

I don't know who enojoyed it more...

Party #3 was for Milo's friend Gabriel, whose birthday is one day after Milo's. His party was also at the park. We can so rock out a park party!

Gabriel also had a pinata.
Milo knew exactly what pinatas were about.
As you can see it is very very serious business.
There is candy in there you know.

Party # 4 was an Oscar party. Milo and Finn didn't so much know what it was about. In fact afterwards he was a bit perplexed that there were no presents, no pinatas, no kids his age there. On the way home he asked me...

Milo: Mom there were no kids my age
Me: Nope there sure weren't buddy, but you had fun right?
Milo: That party was weird Mom, there wasn't even a pinata
Me: Often times at Oscar parties there aren't.
Milo: Or no Big Birds either Mom.

Right about this time, I realized when I said Oscar party he thought I meant Oscar the grouch. I told him we would watching tv and eating snacks for the Oscar party. I think he envisioned watching Sesame Street, eating cake and wacking a pinata with a stick. Not so much Indian Food and Hugh Jackman, but I was pretty happy!

Party #5 was a birthday party for my cousin Heather, Owen's Mom. I forgot my camera so no photographic evidence of this one. But there were otter pops, cake and kids his age. So that party was a hit in his book.
